A Smash Blog Interview with Monica Weagel: Pure Skin Studio

Hey, Monica thank you for joining Frisco Women today for this interview! Let’s get started by telling our readers about yourself and your background!

I’m a born and raised Texan and have lived in the Frisco & Prosper Area for 18 years. I've been married to my college sweetheart ( Southwest Texas State, before it was Texas State) for 19 years and we have a 17-year-old son who is a Junior. I’m also a dog mom to a dachshund/terrier rescue who is a mess but we love him!

Thank you for sharing! We love our members and are always curious about how they came to us; when and how did you learn about Frisco Women?

I’ve followed the group on Facebook for a while and love the supportive vibe.

That’s awesome. Can you tell us a little about your business? We’d love to know how you got started, and where you’ve grown to today!

After being in Hospitality Sales and Revenue Management for 17 years, I realized I was miserable. I had climbed the corporate ladder and was stressed out, overworked, and unfulfilled. Then Covid-19 happened, which changed the travel/hotel industry. I laid off most of my team while taking a huge pay cut and doing all their jobs. It was absolutely one of the worst times in my life. I had always wanted to go to cosmetology school but was pressured to go to college and get a corporate job.
So, at 40, during the pandemic, I quit my job, to go back to school to get my Esthetician license and, opened my own business. I love taking care of people through skincare and massage. Helping people look and feel their best is a joy. I inserted my core values of being vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable into my business. My life looks so much different than it did 4 years ago and I am so grateful to be living my best authentic life. I offer Eminence Organics Facials, HydraFacials, and all of the Vegan Eminence Organics skincare products for homecare

Do you have any advice for our readers?

My life’s motto has always been, "Be so good they can’t ignore you.” And as cliche as it sounds- be yourself. Authenticity has become so rare, that you will be amazed at the connections you make by just being your weird awkward self

Now just for fun, what are your local favorites? We always like to know people’s favorite restaurants, dishes, drinks, etc.

True Food Kitchen - great vegan options and cocktails.
Sweet Gilly's Specialty Bakeshop - an amazing new addition to Frisco with all of the allergy-friendly features, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free (my son has a nut allergy so this place is very special to our family!)

Thank you Monica for joining us today! Where can our readers find you?
